Debbie Bailey Rider, Torrey Peck Kingry & Greg Miller
This musical duo to trio, (with new band addition, Greg Miller-guitar/vocals), will wow you with acoustic guitar(s), lead and harmony vocals and great original songs and covers that are all their own. Debbie and Torrey have been honing their craft for over 25 years. New to the group is Greg Miller whose vocals and guitar skills take the Mum'z to a new level with strong male lead and backing vocals, rich guitar/mandolin skills, and added three-part harmonies that give you goose bumps. Debbie and Torrey make you laugh and then cry with the sweet sounds of two ladies who are "Mum'z" but also professional, extremely gifted musicians, and all-around likable duo. Adding Greg, a newcomer to Florida from North Carolina, opens the duo to an amazing expansive repertoire, sure to please the ear, stepping right in time with Debbie and Torrey. Mum'z the Word! is looking forward to bringing back some great standard, Great American Classic songs, with new Mum'z-i-fied" modern sounds of their diverse song list, and adding Greg’s fresh voice and instrumental talent to Torrey and Debbie's original songs.
TORREY KINGRY: Born in Detroit, Michigan, Torrey moved to Boston in 1982 where she began her music career. In 1990, Torrey moved to Jacksonville and has been involved in the local music scene since. She has played with The Untouchables, Fine Line, The Complete Unknowns, The Pink Paisleys, Get Closer! A Tribute to Linda Ronstadt and Mum’z the Word, to name a few. She is a lead and harmony vocalist, songwriter, well as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, bass, keys, flute, recorder and even cowbell!
GREG MILLER: Greg was the founding guitar player for Raleigh, North Carolina's chart-topping Bluegrass band The Grass Cats for eight years. During that time, he and the band had several top ten CDs and singles with a #1 song, "Bluegrass Man", landing in the Bluegrass Unlimited Nation Bluegrass Charts. Greg was a contributing writer to a top ten single recorded by Rhonda Vincent and Mark Newton " We Can't Go Wrong". "He played in a variety of bands while in Virginia covering old-time Appalachian music to southern and classic rock. Now living in Florida, he is currently the lead singer for the classic rock cover band Half Step Down, Palm Coast, FL.
DEBBIE RIDER: Debra Hammons Bailey Rider was born in St. Augustine, FL. She started singing in church and at Fletcher High School, Neptune Beach, FL. From 1988 to 1992, Debbie sang backing vocals for the hall of fame southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Her voice has been featured from award winning jingles to robotics characters for Sally Industries. Debra also sang Janis Joplin’s tunes for Sam Andrew of Big Brother and the Holding Company, opened for Boots Randolph, Marcia Ball, and sang with University of North Florida’s Jazz Ensembles where she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. A frequent singer for several Alhambra Theatre & Dining’s After Dark Series with nationally touring tribute artists, she is now performing her own tribute as Linda Ronstadt, www.debbieaslinda.com.
